In I Am Legend, Robert Neville is a scientist who cannot stop the spread of a terrible virus that cannot be cured. Which is also man-made in this post-apocalyptic action thriller. Invulnerable, Neville is now the last human survivor of what's left of New York City and possibly the world. For three years, Neville faithfully delivered daily radio messages. Also desperate to find any other survivors that might exist. But he wasn't alone. The mutant victims of the plague lurk in the shadows, watching Neville's every move. Waiting for him to make a fatal mistake. Perhaps humanity's last and best hope, Neville shows up for one remaining mission. Found a way to reverse the effects of the virus using its own immune blood. Full Synopsis of I Am Legend

(SPOILER ALERT) Dr. Krippen (Emma Thompson) shows up about her incredible discovery. It has genetically altered the measles virus so that it can attack cancer cells. Explain that all cancer patients who have had a cure test and have recovered so far. Three years later, New York City has become an empty and desolate place, devoid of human life. Grass covered roads and buildings, abandoned cars lined up and the city was silent. It seems the apocalypse has arrived.

Robert Neville (Will Smith) is driving through a deserted town accompanied by his dog Sam. A herd of deer jumped across his path and followed them. Robert tries to shoot. The deer dispersed and ran into the street. Robert chased on foot, trying to catch a deer. As he turned, he saw the deer ambushed to death by a lion. Robert was confused whether to shoot the lion and his family who also entered the scene or hand the deer over to them. At this point, Robert's watch alarm starts to sound and he leaves, taking Sam with him.

Robert arrived at the house, which looked as if he was in a war zone. Robert and Sam had a seemingly normal night, eating processed food and watching TV. After bathing, he closed, locked, and protected every door and window with large steel shutters. He then fell asleep with a gun, with screams surrounding the house.

He dreams about how Zoe (Salli Richardson-Whitfield), his wife, and their child, Marley (Willow Smith), and Sam are trying to leave New York. Robert was wearing a military uniform. Decided to stay alone to try to stop the virus, as he is a military doctor. They told Marley they were going on vacation. The dream scene is interrupted by Robert waking up to once again face his lonely reality.

Experiments with vaccines for viruses

The film I Am Legend continues with Robert exercising and descending into the basement. It has a small but high-tech laboratory. Experimenting with vaccines for viruses that have wiped out most of humanity. Tried a vaccine, apparently only one in hundreds, on a few mice to find a viable drug. All the rats acted very aggressively, except for one. Robert took note of these mice and thought the specific compound was ready for human trials.

Later, Robert went to a video rental shop and talked to some dolls. His only form of contact with the human form. It seemed he had created a game to prevent madness. Visited a few condo flats, looked for supplies and found a room with a bed wrapped in plastic and another room with two cots. He seems to have pain in his eyes as he empathizes with the loss of a loved one. Then, a radio message that Neville created and is on all AM radio frequencies. Said he was still alive, and would wait for more survivors at the bay pier at midday each day.

Sam saw the deer again, so Robert and Sam chased after him. The deer run into an old building and Sam chases after him, though Robert tries to restrain Sam. Robert enters the building because Sam will not return of his own accord. Carefully, Robert searched the dark rooms. Found the deer and Sam's corpses, hiding. The infected man then jumps out of the darkness to attack Robert and he shoots him. Both Sam and Robert started going through the building. Several more infected appeared and chased after them. He fought them all and both were able to get out of the building. The infected leader (Dash Mihok) is unable to catch up with them as his skin burns as soon as it comes into contact with the sunlight, and after shouting at Robert, he retreats back into the darkness.

Sam's Death

Soon after, Robert sets a trap to catch one of the infected. He succeeds and brings the infected woman (Joanna Numata) back to his lab. Robert tried a vaccine that made the mice less aggressive, but failed and the woman's pulse went flat. Bringing him back to life with a shot of adrenaline and continuing to adjust his serum in hopes of finding a cure.

That night, he returns to dreaming of the past, when his wife and child tried to leave New York in the chaos of evacuation. Relive the panic and terror of the streets as the townspeople try to escape before the infected take control. Robert woke up again, with a very sad face.

The next morning was his birthday. When he went to the video store, he found his mannequin had moved. At night the infected person had set the same trap he had set for them the previous day. Robert is caught by the trap and passes out. When he woke up, he was hanging upside down and bleeding. Sam faithfully waited for him. He cut himself at last just as dusk fell, but fell and the knife pierced his leg. The infected leader then appears with the infected dog which attacks Robert. But Sam defends him, who manages to crawl back into his car to retrieve the gun, shooting dead the infected dog.

He looked up to see Sam passed out from the bite wound and picked him up and laid him in the car. When he gets home, Robert puts down Sam, and injects him with an experimental vaccine. The vaccine fails to help Sam when Robert notices his hair is falling out and tries to bite him. So he was forced to kill her by strangling her while struggling in his arms. Tears welled up and said goodbye to that one and only friend. Robert then went and buried him in the streets of New York City.

End of I Am Legend

In a grief-stricken rage, he decides to fight all those infected head-on. Driving his car hit an infected person who roams around at night. Robert falls and the infected person takes control of the vehicle. Just as he was about to die, a bright light shone on him and he fainted. He dreamed about the past once again. This time dreaming of a helicopter when his wife and child were to leave New York. While taking off, a nearby helicopter was hit by an infected person and crashed into the helicopter carrying his family.

Robert wakes up in his house and stitches up the wound. The people who save her are Anna (Alice Braga) and her son Ethan (Charlie Tahan) who have heard a radio message and went looking for her the previous day. Anna explains the plan to leave New York, and go to Vermont. Robert, however, insisted that he wanted to be alone and did not believe that such a place existed.

Robert realizes that an infected person attacked the house. The previous night they had followed Anna while rescuing Robert. Although Robert's home defense was comprehensive, the number of infected was overwhelming. So they broke through the window and entered the house. Robert, Anna and Ethan retreat to the basement lab.

During an exciting battle, Robert has time to realize that the infected woman he had previously captured and had the virus vaccine tested for, has returned to her human form. Takes a sample of her blood with a syringe and gives it to Anna, telling her to go through a small trapdoor with Ethan. Robert keeps coming back to kill as many infected people as possible. Blow them to pieces with him. Including the vicious alpha-male who has gone on a personal quest to hunt down Robert.

Anna and Ethan reach a strange place in the countryside. The path was cut off by castle-like walls and steel doors. Some of the survivors lived in that closed community. Anna gives a syringe with the antidote to the human leader of that small community and her voice tells us about a legend named Robert Neville.
